BAIT and SWITCH ad
petco has ads all over the internet searches selling Renew Gold for horses at 24.04 and yet when you click on it to try to make the purchase Petco charges 36.99 instead. Even if you call customer service they tell you they can't sell it for 24.04 and they challenge you on where you saw their ad price, when I told them I saved a screen shot of it and can send it to them then they tell you if you create an account with them you will get a discount equal to giving you the ad price. I created that account and the price still showed the higher price and the customer service person said there is nothing they can do except charge me the higher price and later send me a discount in a partial refund. I'm not stupid. No way are they getting me to click Buy Now at that price and trust them to adjust the price later.

Stopped into my local Petco to search…
Stopped into my local Petco to search for freeze dried dog food. When making the purchase the cashier states if you would like a shopping bag it will be .10/ bag(as I looked at the lady buying a basket full of cat food cans) I asked why are they charging for the plastic shopping bag- “corporate made the decision so we all have to charge now” — so lame - way to draw in customers to your store Petco -considering your pet products are already sooo expensive! Bad move ! SMH

Worst customer service ever!If I could…
Worst customer service ever!If I could give a zero I would. I placed an order at 815am and called to cancel it at 830am (15 min later) bc it was no longer needed. They told me it was canceled and I would receive an confirmation email. At 1030am I still had not received the email so I called again, that rep told me it was canceled and I would receive email within 24 hours now. Well now at 430pm I received an email that the product that I no longer need shipped, called customer service again and they told me I now have to bring it back to store once it arrives. Mind you this will be a very heavy box that I am not supposed to lift due to just having surgery. I dont understand how it shipped if they supposedly did their job and canceled order as they said they did.

We went to the store in independence, Mo. this store is so unorganized, dirty, disgusting! The bathrooms were so bad you won’t use them. There was items all over the floors and the fish area was so bad. I swear this store is going out of business! GROSS!!!!

Dead Bird cusomers problem
I purchased a green cheek conure on April 29th. It was healthy happy and would always want out of his cage. Not even 2 months after purchase on June 23rd I come home to find him dead. I went back to the store I purchased him from and the manager wasn't there and once contacted said it was out of the 30 day return window. DO NOT purchase anything expensive from these stores. They only care about getting your money.

VITAL CARE REWARDS DISAPPEAR! Vital care program seems initially like a good deal if you spend a lot on your pets as I do. However, after my recent experience I won’t shop here. My pet died and I had accumulated (paid for, as it is about $21 per month) over $60 in rewards. When I went to use them on my new pet in the same month, they had all been removed from my account and the account was closed. How unfair to steal my unused rewards. Shame on you Petco!

I would think twice before purchasing fish from Petco. Recently, we purchased 5 fish and they all died and killed our existing fish.

I LIVE IN GRAIN VALLEY MISSOURI STARTED TAKING OUR DOG TO PETCO IN BLUESPRINGS MISSOURI. WHEN WE FIRST STARTED THERE THE PRICE WAS 35.00 DOLLARS EVERYTIME WE TAKE OUR DOG THERE WE ASK FOR THE SAME THING THAT WAS DONE ON THE FIRST TIME BUT WE ADDED 15.00 DOLLARS TO TREAT HER FOR TICKS AND FLEAS. THEY ARE NOT TREATING HER FOR THAT CAUSE SHE HAS BITES ALL OVER HER AND WE ARE FINDING TICS AND FLEAS ALL OVER US. ARE BILL WENT FROM 35.00 TO 67 SOMETHING. SHE IS A MEDUIM SIZE DOG AND JUST GETS A BATH,NAILS,EARS AND THEETH DONE. VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER WITH THE BIG PRICE HIKE FOR NO REASON AT ALL. I KNOW THERE NOT TREATING HER FOR TICKS AND FLEAS.SO NOW WE GOT TAKE HER TO THE VET NOW. They Said it was My Problem
I have been receiving prescription cat food on repeat delivery basis, every 5 weeks, for the last several years. The shipment is always proceeded by a confirming email where I can delay the shipping date. Today I received two, seventeen pound bags of cat food. For the first time ever there was no email. My credit card was charged for two bags of food at $103 each. My last shipment was a single bag on May 15. The bags received today came less that 5 weeks after the last delivery. I spoke with Roiel who told me I placed an order for two bags when I confirmed my May shipment. I told him that was wrong; my vet would never approve a two bag order and this never happened in the last two years, he told me my email prior to the shipment probably went to my spam folder. Wrong again, it has never happened. His resolution was to have me skip my next two shipments but still pay for the food I received. I told him I wasn’t paying for something I could not use for several months due to their error. When I realized there was nothing they would do about this, I said I would dispute the charges on my credit card, would cancel my Petco account, and I would purchase my prescription food from another company. Again, Petco was unsympathetic and uncaring, Will never buy from Petco again.

False information
Before I would probably let something like this go, but I CANNOT! Previously i had taken my dog to the PETCO in Hagerstown, MD for a groom. Due to my dog’s anxiety & aggression towards being shaved he was not able to get groomed. After being called to pick him up, I was then given false information from the stylist stating that if I could get him a prescription to calm him down, beings though he’s hormonal, I could bring him back. She also stated when we were leaving that they would work with him after I apologized for his behavior that day… her words were “aww we’ll work with him” . We did have a conversation about possibly taking him to his vet to be groomed, but never that they could not take him if he was under any medication, SHE SUGGESTED THE MEDICATION & TO BRING HIM BACK WHEN we HAD DONE SO. My boyfriend is my whiteness as he was there when she gave us this information. I went through lengths to give my dog a prescription just to have her say that he’s sedated and they could not take him. For future references PETCO please have your employees tell all pet owners that the company will not groom their animals if they are aggressive towards grooming. Please advise them to not educate where there is no knowledge. This could have been alleviated if we were told that they could not take him because of aggression, but we were not. we were told to medicate my dog, which the employee now denies. I do understand what the policy is NOW, but we were never mad aware of this policy then.

Horrible company, real bad customer service
If I could rate this place lower than 1 star I would. Horrible, horrible location. Actually horrible horrible company too. Placed an online order late in the day on the 9th and 6 of the 10 items were available in store. Due to the hour it said would be next day. Ok cool. Well 2 items got delivered. From 2 extremely far locations. They not only split up my order but then didn't deliver the rest! And forget customer service. Yesterday they said it would be there by end of day. Today they said it would be by 8pm. Guess what I STILL don't have!!!!

PetCo FAILED
ordered a Prescription medication guided by my vet. Entered Vets credentials and was noted that Petco would contact Vet for approval. They never did. I called Petco 6/11 and was told my vet could call for the approval with the reference number. PetCo told my Vet that they wouldn't release medication. I called today to determine why, Petco changed the city of location of my vet and refused to change back to the correct address and cancelled my order. All in the suffering of my animal that needs the medication. HOrrible customer service and lack of any kind of compassion

Incompetent & Apathetic
For months now, ordering online is a crap shoot. One moment I can log into a long-standing account with no trouble. The next moment, I'm "blocked". Allegedly, there's a "robot" on my IP, or I'm typing "faster than a human" (imagine ME!), or a myriad of other sad excuses. Either/or, one way or another, I can't order, can't check orders. Called "Customer Service"... can't get anybody who speaks proper American English. TRY to explain the trouble with the web-site. 20 questions about telephone numbers, e-mail accounts and the sort follow. Meanwhile, the trouble with the web-site is never addressed. They can't deal with trouble, are quick to dismiss with "Do you have any other troubles with your computer?" WHAT? My computer? If this is the kind of incompetence PetCo "customer service" and web-site crew are capable of, it makes me not trust their products. Apathy is NOT a "service" and certainly NOT a comforting product. Off to "Chewy" we go... and for what I can't get there, I'm SURE to find else-where, with competent people who care about customers and our "little ones".

wholehearted membership
I think Petco should have left the Wholehearted program in for those that were grandfathered in until they did not pay for it anymore. It is a shame Petco did this. What ever happened to big companies caring about their loyal customers?

I made an appointment at Petco in…Grooming
I made an appointment at Petco in Kissimmee Fl and due to the weight and breed of my dog ​​it came out that grooming cost $55, when I take my dog ​​to the appointment, they tell me that the cost of grooming is $87 🤬 really? ?? from 55 to 87?? And read, I asked why and they told me that you have to cut her hair more 😡, if I had known that it was going to be this expensive, I would have hired a grooming cart that comes to my house and I don't have to go out! They are scammers!!!
